Emerging markets a staple for investors

Singapore-based Sukumar Rajah – who is also director of portfolio management – is responsible for overseeing Asian equity strategies as well as single-country, regional and multi-country products among other responsibilities. These include being lead portfolio manager for the Templeton Asian Growth Fund (US$3.3 billion or S$4.5 billion under management) and the Franklin India Fund (US$2.1 billion under management).

Mr Rajah joined Pioneer ITI in 1994, which was acquired by Franklin Templeton in 2002. He earned his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
