Some dentists upset over talk of extra training for risky procedures

About 50 dentists, upset by what they perceive as an attempt by the authorities to protect specialists and curb their freedom to perform certain treatments, have jointly sent a letter to the Singapore Dental Association (SDA) asking for a special general meeting.

The Singapore Dental Council (SDC), the professional watchdog, has been sounding out dental groups on the need for additional training for certain procedures that could pose risks to patients if not properly carried out.
