Aussie state’s euthanasia laws prompt debate

Victoria has become the only state in Australia to allow euthanasia, resurrecting an impassioned debate about the rights of terminally ill people.

The so-called “voluntary assisted dying” laws allow Victorian residents aged 18 or over who suffer from a painful, incurable and terminable disease to access a dose of a lethal substance.
