A 37-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night after walking into St Patrick’s Cathedral in with two full gasoline cans, lighter fluid and lighters, police said.
The incident occurred two days after a massive fire damaged the Notre Dame cathedral in The blaze was most likely the result of an accident though a major investigation is under way. Asked if was a possible motive in the incident, police said it was “too early to say that”. The man, who police declined to identify because he has not been charged, was still in custody.
